The Real Deal Adventure Event with World Team Sports June 27-29, 2008 Greetings!This past weekend World T.E.A.M. Sports (The Exceptional Athlete Matters) hosted the Real Deal Inclusive Sports Adventure in the mountains north of Vail, Colorado.The Real Deal Inclusive Sports Adventure is a unique, inclusive TEAM adventure that features TEAMS of 5 participants, two of whom must be participants with disabilities, one of whom must be non-ambulatory. The event was inspired by world renowned climber Erik Weihenmayer, blind since the age of 13, and World Team Sports board member. We were honored this year to host a total of ten teams and 50 amazing participants.The Real Deal Sports Adventure includes mountain biking in the Colorado Rockies, white water rafting, climbing, hiking, rappelling , a zip-line over the Colorado River, orienteering, swimming in the Colorado River, and multiple TEAM problem solving, action-packed activities over the course of three days (the first day is a training day).The Real Deal Inclusive Sports Adventure showcases the power of inclusive TEAMS, teaming participants with and without disabilities - showing what is really possible when you include everybody and work together.Talk about TEAM-building!!To succinctly summarize the event: It was amazingly inspiring!Please click on the link below to read the article that appears on the front page of today’s Denver Post sports section: http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_9748215Please look at just a few of the attached amazing pictures that captured some of the inspiring action from the event.
