AXS Vail Valley was started by part-time local and parents of two daughters, one of which has a disability. Craig and Sally Sakin, originally from New York and have been visitors of Beaver Creek for ten years. The Sakin’s recognize a need for change to successfully attract the tourism dollars from travelers and adventurers with disabilities.

Our mission is to encourage the growth of recreational programs and services for residents and visitors with disabilities. Additionally, it is our goal to establish a network between local businesses, sports facilities, residents and the tourist industry in the surrounding area for the purpose of making our area a more attractive destination for people with disabilities.

AXS Vail Valley, a 501 c3, is funded entirely through private donations. Craig Sakin, of Catterton Partners, has put his 20 years of private equity experience to use to assure AXS has ample operational and programmatic funding.
